Our Certified Professional Midwives are experts in natural childbirth with a focus on out-of-hospital care.
During pregnancy, hour-long visits build trust, provide education, and empower you to make the choices that best serve your family.
In labor and birth, we guide and support the natural process while quietly monitoring you and your baby to ensure safety and wellbeing. We intervene only when necessary.
We are skilled in the many variations of normal, expecting the best while prepared for rare complications.
Research shows that midwifery clients experience lower rates of episiotomy, induction, infection, caesarean birth, and invasive procedures, leading to excellent outcomes for parent and baby.
Our Services
Full-Course Homebirth Care
Our home birth package provides all pregnancy, labor and birth and three months of postpartum care.
You have telephone & text access to your midwives from the moment you start care.
We are on call to come to your home for your birth from 37 weeks, and midwives who you know and trust will help you birth in the comfort of your home.
Prefer a hospital birth but want midwifery support?
We offer co-care that includes prenatal visits and in-home postpartum care. We’ll walk through key decisions, support your emotional and physical wellbeing, and help plan your birth.
After birth, we provide five to six postpartum visits, more than most, to monitor healing, support feeding, check on baby, and ease your transition into family life.
Postpartum Care Only
In-home postpartum care complements your hospital birth.
We come to you for checkups, feeding support, and answers to your questions so you can rest and bond with your baby.

When I was ready to go into labor I was confident I was in good hands, and could just focus on bringing my baby into the world. The Rock Creek midwifery team worked in my home respectfully and efficiently.
I was so well taken care of before, during, and after my little girl came, it truly felt like maternal care fit for a goddess.
I went into labor much earlier than expected, which threw us into a bit of a tail spin, and their support was invaluable. I labored for longer than any of us imagined (baby ended up being posterior), but the Rock Creek team was in it for the long haul. They never rushed me or added any pressure; they walked the fine line of offering support and giving space; and they walked us through what needed to be done to finally move baby down. Baby was born healthy, but the placenta gave us some issues, and I lost a lot of blood. Rachel, Brittany, and their team worked calmly and quickly to make sure I was safe. Baby and I are both happy and healthy and so grateful to have had the home birth we so badly wanted (this was attempt #2 after our first with a different midwife ended in a transfer).
The postpartum period was something that also stood out to me. My care didn’t end after baby was born, and the follow-up appointments were incredibly thorough and helpful, making me feel like I wasn’t just “dropped” after the baby came. Follow-up testing helped identify my needs in recovery, and I just felt so very cared for as I healed.
I can’t thank the Rock Creek Midwifery team enough for all the ways they loved and served our family through it all. I was so nervous after our first birth went so differently than we’d hoped, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support we had on that journey!
The care provided felt luxurious (compared to hospital practices). We had long appointments where not only medical checks were done but also we got to know each other and discuss important aspects of pregnancy and newborn life. Rachel was very proactive in guiding the appointments and we always had plenty of time for questions. It was reassuring to get to know the persons that were going to assist me during birth.
During the birth, I was the only patient to be cared of with all the team’s attention on me. I felt supported, empowered and respected in all my choices. We were informed about biological and psychological aspects and felt reassured by our decisions. Rachel is a great midwife with a lot of knowledge and with the perfect mix of medical rigor and human warmth.
They provided best- of-class postpartum care with regular home visits and lot of medical and emotional support that felt life-saving in those first days.
